This article describes the complete overhaul of a mining operation in Missouri. A proprietary, obsolete and inadequate system was replaced with Allen-Bradley equipment including an industrial PC, a SLC 5/03 processor, VersaView monitors, a ControlLogix processor and a MicroLogix processor, all communicating via RadioLinx wireless modems from ProSoft Technology. Company execs estimate new control system will save approximately $100,000 per year in downtime and manpower.

Triangle Packaging Machinery Company had an application in which their Multihead Weigher and Vertical Form Fill Seal Bag Machine (VFFS) were used. This equipment works at extremely high speeds, and thus their control system would need the ability to process data rapidly and accurately. Triangle found their solution in ProSoft Technology’s in-rack PC56 module for the ControlLogix chassis, because the product has the flexibility of a Programmable Logic Controller and the speed of an industrial computer.

16 flow computers from ProSoft Technology were installed in the Urucu province, the second largest natural gas reserve in Brazil with an average daily production of over five million cubic meters per day, and where 38 flow streams of natural gas are transferred to an oil treatment plant owned by Petrobras. The largest water treatment facility in Southern Iraq, the Nasiriyah Plant supplies 10,000 cubic meters per hour of fresh drinking water to approximately three million Iraqis in Ad-Dawayah, Badaah, Al-Shatra, Al-Garaaf, Nasiriyah and Sug Ash Shuyuk.
